Frequently Asked Questions
Please follow the FAQ link to address many questions about the Vineyards.

Vineyards Softball Team Scoreboard - The Chuggers
June 22th - The Chuggers were victorious again, winning 18-14 to move to 4-1.  See the schedule for scores and upcoming game times.  The team suffered its first casualty as Phil Mendoza went down with a knee injury.  Get better Phil!

Westchase Poll
Vineyards residents were recently sent a poll regarding amendments to the Westchase Coventants.  The Vineyards response was VERY poor.  As of June 6th, only 15 out of 120 residents returned their polls (only 12.5%!).

Pressure Washing
Carlson Construction will be on site in approximately two (2) weeks (early to mid June) to pressure wash the neighborhood.  As he has in the past, Mr. Carlson is also available to pressure wash residents' driveways, walkways, and porches. Please contact Mr. Carlson to obtain a quote at 727.744.8397 or at CarlsonConstruction@Gmail.com.

PARKING!!!
Residents, please remember that resident parking is NOT permitted on the streets or alleyways.  Residents must park ALL vehicles in their garage or driveways.  If you have a temporary guest (e.g., friends in town, kids home from college for the summer, etc.), please apply for a guest pass.  Otherwise, the vehicle may be subject to violations.  Click this link for the Parking Guidelines document.  Thank you.

Vineyards BOD Meeting
The Board of Directors held a meeting on Sunday, May 17th.  Due to weather, the meeting was moved to the Westchase Swim and Tennis Center.  The meeting was very productive and addressed numerous community maintenance and beautification issues.  Please click this link to view the agenda for the meeting.

Be Aware of Snakes!
A Vineyards resident was recently bit by a snake on the leg after stepping into some bushes on Spring Garden Way.  Please remember that we live adjacent to numerous wetlands, which are common breeding grounds for certain venomous snakes, especially the Water Moccasin/Cottonmouth.  Parents, please be aware of your children's surroundings. Please refer to the following links for more information and pictures that will help you identify dangerous snakes: (1) http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/UW229 (2) http://ufwildlife.ifas.ufl.edu/ven_snake_info.shtml (3) http://ufwildlife.ifas.ufl.edu/pdfs/cottonmouth.pdf

Lost Dog
The Cucuzza family of the Fords has lost their dog, Gracie. Gracie has been missing since Sunday, April 19th and was last seen running towards the Vineyards. She is a tan Chihuahua-Pug mix and weighs approx. 8lbs (see picture). She is wearing a nametag with phone number. She is very good natured. Reward if found. Please call Mary Ann and Keith at 201-892-2732 or 917-837-7225.

Vandalism
The Vineyards has experienced a recent rise in acts of vandalism.  Please keep your eyes open when you are walking around the neighborhood.  The following are recents acts of vandalism that have been reported:

     - Broken and stolen garden decorations at the Northern end of Spring Mountain
     - Broken front porch spindles at two homes on Spring Garden
(the front of the homes face the Southern end of Spring Mountain)

Watering Restrictions Impact
Based on our understanding, our sprinkler system is exempt from the new Modified Phase IV watering restrictions since it is reclaimed water.  However, the other restrictions apply to Vineyards residents.  No car washing or pressure washing beginning on Friday, April 3rd, unless it is performed by a commercial service.

Basketball and Softball
The Saturday morning basketball games have begun!  We played our first set of games from 8 AM to 9:30 AM on April 18th.  The Vineyards will also be starting a "B" level softball team on Monday nights with the first practice on April 27th from 7:30 PM to 9 PM.  Please send a message to the general mail box under "Contact Us" if you are interested playing either sport.

Go-Carts in the Neighborhood
A go-cart was seen zooming around in the neighborhood recently.  Based on an e-mail with Deputy Jean Matera, Westchase Community Resource Officer, the go-cart is illegal unless it is either (1) registered with the state, or (2) operator receives express written permission from the Vineyards Board, which it has not.  If you see the go-cart, please contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's department.

Proposed Development
Please see this link to review correspondence and a map illustrating the location of a proposed apartment complex to the NW of The Vineyards.  The property is located to the East of Davidsen Elementary.  The public hearing was scheduled for November 17, 2008, but was continued.  The new date has not been announced.  Please send a message at the "Contact Us" link if you have any comments.

Common Area Landscaping
Landscaping in the common areas is maintained by our commercial grounds management company, Davey.  Residents should not perform any landscaping alternations in these areas, as the Vineyards Board and Property Manager provide guidance to address certain areas and special circumstances.  If you would like a common area issue addressed, please send a communication in the "Contact Us" link.  Once again, please do not cut, trim, remove or add any plants, shrubs or trees to the Vineyards common areas.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Tree Assessment
You may have noticed that numerous trees in the Vineyards were tagged with a bright green strap.  Please do not remove these straps.  These trees were recently identified during a walk through with Davey personnel and Richard Bailey, a Board Certified Master Arborist, as trees that could potentially impact utilities.  The Vineyards is considering removal of the trees and will review Richard Bailey's report in late-July.

Please Register for More Features
Our website is back! After a long absence, the Vineyards website has returned with many new features. Please click the Register link at the top left of the home page. This will provide you access to the Message Board and Classified Ads sections of the website. Your information will be maintained on this website and will only be used by the Vineyards Homeowners Association for critical neighborhood communications.

Pick Up After Your Dog
Many Vineyards residents are proud owners of dogs. However, many Vineyards residents have not been picking up after their dogs recently. Residents have observed an increase in the number of dog droppings throughout the neighborhood, especially by the lake. Picking up after your dog is not an option, it is mandatory.

Recycling

Please help contribute to the Hillsborough County recycling program. Pick-up is typically Monday morning. It is very easy to recycle as the county takes most paper products, as well as glass, aluminum, metal (i.e., canned soup), etc.  Click this link to review the "Do's and Don'ts of Recycling".

Mailbox Maintenance
Owners are responsible for repairing and replacing mailboxes. Please contact the following company for replacement or repair: Creative Mailbox & Sign Designs, 300 Mears Blvd., Oldsmar, FL, (813) 818-7100. Complete double replacement including posts, delivery and installation costs $476.15. Mailboxes costs $34.55 per mailbox, with a $35.00 delivery and installation fee.

Speed Limit
Please be safe and obey the traffic rules of our village. This includes the 15 MPH speed limit and driving the correct way on one way streets.

Parking
Please be reminded that both Westchase and Vineyards rules prohibit resident parking on the streets.  Residents must park their cars in their garage or driveways at all times.  Thank you for your cooperation.
